In Loving Memory Brother Avril Wheeler

Arvil B. Wheeler, 73, passed away on October 29, 2006 in Gilbert, AZ after a battle with bone cancer. He donated his remains to Science Care for research. He was born on December 14, 1933 in Santo, Texas, to the late Wayne and Francis Wheeler. A.B. is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sylvia G. Wheeler (Jo), 3 brothers, 1 sister, 4 children, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and hundreds of his Union brothers and sisters. A.B. was raised on a farm, broke wild horses as a teen, roughnecked in the oil fields of Texas, mastered the art of welding, and was a member of U.A. Local 469 for 53 years. A.B. was well known for his absolute excellence in welding, his incredible sense of humor, his harmonica playing, his hunting, fishing and arm wrestling talents. But most of all, he was known for "being the best friend anyone could have." On Saturday November 11, the U.A. Local 469 at 3109 N. 24th Street in Phoenix, will host the Memorial Service at 5:00 pm. Immediately following there will be a full scale CELEBRATION of his life including a country western band and dancing. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at any Well's Fargo Bank, in the name of his wife, Sylvia (Jo) Wheeler.
